Introduction

In order to conduct research and development activities including creation of skilled manpower in related matter and to ensure skilful administration and proper management in oil, gas and mineral sector, Bangladesh Petroleum Institute (BPI) has been established according to the Bangladesh Petroleum Institute (BPI) Act,2004.

Functions

1. Impart training to the professionals and technicians engaged in the petroleum sector of the country.
2. Undertake advanced study/research on hydrocarbon prospects and development.
3. Establish a computerized data processing/information centre and perform subsequent operational activities.
4. Provide technical support services to the organizations engaged in petroleum activities.
